📅 The clock is ticking with California having cleared a pathway for responsible business practices in the U.S.

🛑1. PFAS Prohibitions (AB 1817) - started Jan 1, 2025.
* Bans added PFAS and concentration limits for residues at 100ppm
* Stricter limits of 50 ppm by Jan 1, 2027.
* Outdoor apparel for wet conditions by January 1, 2028, & required
disclosure in effect now.
🌿2. Climate Corporate Data Accountability Act (SB 253) - starting Jan 1, 2026.
* Companies that plan to do business in California and have over $1
billion in annual revenue will need to disclose Scope 1,
Scope 2, with Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions each
year starting in 2027.
📊 3. Climate-Related Financial Risk Act (SB 261) - starting Jan 1, 2026.
* Requires companies to prepare and submit climate-related
financial risk and adaptation reports.
👕 4. Responsible Textile Recovery Act of 2024 (SB 707) - starting Jan 1, 2027.
* Requires textile and apparel companies to accept unwanted items
to recycle them or prepare them for reuse.
* Requires joining an approved Producer Responsibility Organization
(PRO) by July 1, 2026.
